The best vacuum for any money!

I am not one to leave reviews, i normally just read what others say. But right now my friends and neighbors look at me funny when I start talking about my new vacuum because I can't stop with the accolades. I did read reviews on this vacuum, but they do not do it justice, this is a bada$$ piece of machinery. I have medium pyle carpet, and I can turn the brush off and it still pulls at the carpet! When you turn the brush on, it almost feels self propelled as the brush pulls it forward. I caught the end of a scarf(by mistake) and it sucked the entire thing into the hose before the brush shut off- looked like a cartoon it was so fast! with the canister 3/4 full, it still picked up loose cat litter and pet food. My carpet did not look dirty, but the first 5 feet I went back & forth I went over twice filled the canister a quarter of the way. My carpet runners have never been so clean, they look refreshed, newer even. My 20 yr old son commented on how much better our carpet looked and... 5/5 Bigant - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Upright (NV356E) (Misc.) AMAZING!

I love this. I am expecting my first baby and have become insane about cleaning. I wanted a new vacuum because the pet hair mine seamed to be leaving on the carpet. I looked at reviews all over. I debated between this and dyson. This was way more affordable so I decided to give it a shot.I put this together in a flash(pregnant)It seamed a little "cheep" So I was kinda worried about the parts being flimsy. So far they are not, its just very light weight.I wanted to do a test and see how good it was.(crazy prego mind I vacuumed part of my carpet with my old vacuum. I emptied the content of the old on a paper. Then I vacuumed the same swatch of Capet with my new shark. First thing I noticed was how easy it was for me to maneuver at 38weeks pregnant. Then I dumped the content of this vacuum on the paper to compare what had been lifted. I was amazed.First the pile of dirt was about 4-5times larger than the pile from my old vacuum... 5/5 applelove - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Upright (NV356E) (Misc.) Difference Between Professional and Navigator Liftaway

Although the differences are subtle, they could be very important to the customer. Nobody has really mentioned the differences, so here we go!From Vacuum Cleaner Advisor Site:"The Shark Navigator Lift Away NV350 and the Shark Navigator Lift Away Pro NV356E are similar machines but the two can quickly and easily be differentiated by their color. The NV350 is lavender in color while the NV356E is white and silver. The "Pro" is also a little heavier at about 14 lbs compared to 12.8 lbs for the NV350, and the "Pro" dirt canister is larger with a capacity (to the fill line) of 0.55 gallons while the NV350 dirt canister capacity (to the fill line) is 0.3 gallons. It should be noted that the canisters on both units can actually hold more but the recommended capacity before emptying is as stated above. There are a few other differences as well, such as vacuum dimensions."Had I known this before, I would have probably gotten this model for the extra... 5/5 David Kavic (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews, November 30, 2011

    This thing is AMAZING!

WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. I was debating between this model and the Shark Lift Away Professional. I went with this NV42 model because it was $80 cheaper and seemed to have many of the same features (minus the lift away base unit.) I can say that my house has NEVER been CLEANER! I have 2 dogs and one sheds heavily year round. This vacuum not only sucked up all of the fur, but also managed to get all of the dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers AND underneath my thick area rugs that I used to have to go back and clean separately. It works fantastic on carpets, rugs, stairs and my hardwood floors AND its self propelled so I don't even have to push it! I even use it to dust woodwork and window sills and I cleaned my entire sectional couch with it - that's how powerful it is! I must say it is a bit cumbersome on my stairs...but not nearly as bad as my old hoover was. If you are concerned with agility on... 5/5 DogLoverExtreme - See all my reviews WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. ALMOST PERFECT

What's great about it: Great price, easy set up, good suction, not heavy or cumbersome, love the width of the head. What's not so great: Not self-propelled, hose is not as stretchy as I thought, no on board storage for two of the attachments.Really great vacuum, especially for the price. I go through vacuums fairly quickly so I've had quite a few different ones and I've paid up to as much as $500. This is my first Shark and my favorite vacuum to date.Easy to switch from floor to carpet and floor mode is pretty quiet. The furniture/pet hair attachment works really well. The little beater brush is air driven so it's not too noisy and there is a little slide bar to give more or less suction. Which is nice. There are also two little strips of that red material like they use for fancy lint removal brushes. So it readily and quickly picks up pet hair. Good design. It also comes with a super long skinny nozzle, a short flat one and a soft duster type of... 4/5 RJB - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Deluxe (NV42) (Misc.) I never thought I could love a vacuum again

In my younger days, I cleaned houses for a living. I loved my Eureka upright and no one could tell me anything different. Hoover - forget it! The 200 pound Kirby - not a chance! My love for Eureka knew no bounds. I could even repair it myself, changing bags, or belts, no worries!Until one sad day, it broke and I couldn't fix it.Time to go to Amazon and see what is out there.First I went to Kohl's, Best Buy, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Costco, looking, taking notes, seeing prices, sizes, what options, what is good bad or ugly. I kind of liked the Shark. Came home, read all the reviews on Amazon (I am in love with Amazon and Prime, just saying.) Picked this one. Waited for it to arrive.Put it together, not hard, didn't even need help from hubby, Norman. Shazam!I vacuumed my house, up down, all over. Each room, I emptied the easy-to-remove basket of dirt and dog hair and took it to the trash. Most powerful, light and versatile upright I've ever owned- LOVE IT!

I bought this in 2010 and it really is what I've been looking for in an upright for years! I come from a Hoover Windtunnel that weighs ~ 23lbs and was killing me. I have carpeted stairs, so wanted a lift-off type upright but the Hoover model is too heavy. Then I saw the Shark infomercial. They always have such clever designs but their cordless vac reviews are so bad, I had to check reviews online before I bought this. They clearly are much better at making plug-in vacs over cordless re-chargeables because this one is a keeper! It makes vacuuming kinda fun :)Pros:- light and easy to push, pull and lift!- all nozzles (except crevice tools) swivel- really easy to maneuver!- so quiet, no high-pitched hiss at all, just a soft hum- this thing is only 10 amps and the suction is better than the Hoover's 12 amp motor- unbelievable!- converts to a light canister- hand held or still on the rolling nozzle base- comes with lots of attachments (I got... 4/5 LILass (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) Shark vs Bissell...the Shark wins!

I purchased this vacuum about 6 mos. ago in search of replacing my Bissell Pet Hair Removal vacuum. I wanted to wait in submitting this review until I had used the Shark for a fair amount of time. I had initially purchased the Bissell Pet Hair vacuum to help me with the carpet and carpeted stairs in my home. We have two dogs, a Min Pin and a yellow Lab, so the dog hair has various sizes and colors. Our house is carpeted almost throughout (except the tiled kitchen and entryway) in a dark forest green carpet. You can imagine how quickly and easily the yellow Lab hair shows on this dark carpet. I found the Bissell to be heavy and almost impossible to deal with on the stairs. The removable attachment hose was always detaching somewhere, while I was trying to use it on the stairs (either the pet attachment from the extension piece, or the extension piece from the flexible hose, or the flexible hose from the sweeper body. Nothing broke, but in pulling the hose up the stairs, something would... 5/5 Weda - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) What A Difference

Didn't purchase our Shark Lift-Away from Amazon. However, I had to submit a review of this vacuum we bought in June 2011, as it has impressed my wife and myself beyond expectations! We have owned a Kirby Generation 4 vacuum for many years, and it has served us well, but it's weight has become a little too-much for my wife. My wife had been hinting for a Dyson vacuum, but the price of the Dyson was awfully high though it did have good reviews.I was scanning some TV channels, and happend upon a Shark Navigator Lift-Away ad in progress. In the ad they used a Dyson with the Swivel ball steering to show how the Navigator also could swivel/pivot/steer the same way.The ad showed a number of testimonials from folks who said that they thought their prior vacuum before purchasing the Lift-Away were doing a good jobs. They were all surprised that even after running their original vacuum over their carpets, that the Shark Navigator Lift-Away pulled much more... 5/5 Gary A. I highly recommend the Shark Rocket Slim Vac.

0 5/5 AJM - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rocket Ultralight Upright (HV302) (Misc.) I did a lot of research and reading on this item before purchasing it so I could be well informed about it and the competitors version. I love the Shark Rocket Slim Vac. It is more powerful than my Dyson Pet Upright Vacuum, easier to get up high without a lot of fuss and I can get under the beds without having to disconnect and connect to other parts. It is lightweight and maneuvers easily around and under everything. I do have to empty the dust cup after each room I clean but then I had to empty the dirt on my Dyson pretty often too, so that does not bother me. I love the long cord, I can reach just about the whole house from on plug in. I highly recommend this product.... 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 1, 2013

Nice Handheld Vacuum but here are some food for thought

I purchased the Shark Rocket (HV301) and my review is based on this model. Not sure what is the difference between the two. Looks the same. Let me know if you know the difference. Anyway here is my thoughts after about one month of use.1) Small cup that collects the dust. It's small so you need to keep an eye as it fills up fast with dust and fine particles that this vacuum does pick up. The dust cup which I will call it is hinged to the vacuum. You can't take the dust cup completely off to dump its content. You have to understand how the vacuum cleaner is made up of three(3) disconnect able parts. 1-the vacuum head at the other end. 2-the long stick part of the vacuum. 3- the hand held vacuum motor part that your hand grasp. So....to clean out the dust cup which is part of no.3 above (the hand held vacuum motor prt that your hand grasp) which has the long cord also connected to it. You would have to disconnect that part from part 1&2, walk over to your trash container to... 4/5 Reversemidasman - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rocket Ultralight Upright (HV302) (Misc.) I love vacuuming! (Did I just say that?)

Yes, I did just say that. Because this is the best vacuum ever. I don't want to say this vacuum changed my life, because that sounds incredibly pathetic, but it kind of did. I am pretty sure I have vacuumed more in the last month than I have in my entire life. I show it to people when they come to visit and give them demonstrations. Not kidding. My husband saw his parents using it and when he came home from visiting them, the first thing we did was go out and buy this vacuum.I was skeptical.Every other vacuum I've ever encountered was heavy, awkward, inconvenient, tangly, frustrating, hard to store, and broke the minute you looked at it. It didn't matter what you spent on it--a lot or a little--it was still awful. I had given up on ever finding any vacuum that was not awful. This vacuum is aptly named. I am "free" to pick it up at any time with no janky cord in my way! It doesn't cramp my "style" because it is easy-to-use and maneuver,... 5/5 Jillian Cautrell "Wordsmith - Organizer - Cra... Still great after 1 yr

I've owned this for one year, and here's what's good about it. I've owned many stick vacs, and I was pretty loyal to swifter vac....cheap and reliable. However, I wanted one to do my kitchen mats and entry rugs too. This shark vac is great. First off, unlike most cordless vacs, this one you can leave charging 24/7 and it doesn't ruin the battery. This one has a little "docking station" that the wheels sit on to charge. Takes up almost no space. Second, I have a lab who sheds like crazy, plus 1800 sqft of all tile....I can do the whole house without emptying canister and without running out of charge. The front is low profile and goes under console table, arm chairs, and couch. Thirdly, I can do my kitchen rugs and entry rugs with out sucking them up like my Dyson vac. The shark has two settings for rug and bare floor, you control the setting with your foot. The only reason it gets four instead of five stars is that it's not as maneuverable as I would like...doesn't... 4/5 T. Williams (Texas) - See all my reviews, March 16, 2014

Looks sturdier, sounds quieter, plus the light goes out once it is fully charged. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 10, 2014

    Don't waste your money

I bought this in store, but just wanted to warn anyone not to waste your money on this. It worked great for about a week, but then I noticed it wasn't picking anything up, it was just spitting and flinging it out in all directions. I would have to go over the same dust bunny, or whatever I was trying to sweep up, at least 5 times before it would actually catch it. The front of it is so big that it can't get up against a wall unless you turn it sideways to use the little side sweeper brush that just flings crumbs 5 feet across the room, and forget about corners cause its not happening at all. So usually before using this I have to use a regular broom to get the corners and baseboards and end up having to go back again after it flings the junk back up against the wall and into the corners. So I really do the same cleaning 3 or 4 times before I get it all or give up and just use the good ol' broom and dustpan for the whole job. On top of all that, the charge doesn't last very long and it... 1/5 Cece146 - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark 13" Rechargable Floor & Carpet Sweeper (V2950) (Misc.) FINALLY: Great for multipurpose (mess, pets etc.) AND great job cleaning

I've purchased 7 dust busters over the past 6 years, each one giving out before the years end and never started out working great to begin with. This one is different-because it's not a dust buster - it's a cordless hand held vacuum that has a magnetic vacuum brush easily detachable. It also comes with 2 other attachments- one with a brush head, that I use for vacuuming PET HAIR on my pants/coats and works awesome, and another for deep crevice, which I use when vacuuming the hard to reach places IN THE CAR. I keep the charging station next to the kitchen table where I use it the most. The upright station is great because there's no mounting required (you can mount it) -it can just stand there and not look out of place, unlike other mounting charging stations. I use it to clean up food around the table, I use it to vacuum pet hair and human hair on COUCH, for incidental messes on the CARPET- spilled plant, popcorn mess after movie afternoon, great on the STAIRS, the area RUGS, the... 5/5 Momof2 "momof2" (St. Joseph, MI) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark  Pet Perfect II Hand Vac (SV780) (Misc.) Just OK

I purchased this over the thinking that for the relatively modest price increase that the performance would be better. I was wrong.First the pros:*) Taking it apart and putting it back together is a breeze - very simple to figure out and no easy-to-break parts.*) The motorized brush can stand up to a real use*) The mounting unit is compact, easy to mount/unmounts with, and charges the unit. Now the cons:*) Battery life is only OK - you'll find it lasts a pretty long time per charge without the motorized brush and if you're only doing spot cleanup. But with the motorized brush or really big jobs, it can die pretty quickly. Be sure to read the manual, they really emphasize not recharging until you have fully discharged the battery or you'll shorten it's life... 3/5 Jase T. Best Hand Held Vac Ever

0 5/5 Miguel "Miguel" (SEATTLE, WA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Shark  Pet Perfect II Hand Vac (SV780) (Misc.) This little baby gets the job done! When I see the clots of dust, hair and debris it picks up from my seemingly clean carpet I rejoice. And my truck cab is truly clean for the first time in years. Here are a few tips to get the most from your vac:1. Resist the temptation to begin using this vac immediately. Charge the battery completely and discharge it completely two times in a row. Yes it takes time but it's worth it to prevent a degraded battery from "memory loss." Allow the battery to discharge completely between charges.2. NEVER run the vac while it is being charged.3. Always clean out the debris and clean the filter after each use.I've been doing this and I get a solid fifteen minutes of powerful vacuuming every time, which is all you could ask from such a device. The replacement filters are inexpensive and long lasting, and maintenance couldn't be simpler. I just find this vacuum hugely convenient and a great value. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 12, 2011
