    This thing is AMAZING!

WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. I was debating between this model and the Shark Lift Away Professional. I went with this NV42 model because it was $80 cheaper and seemed to have many of the same features (minus the lift away base unit.) I can say that my house has NEVER been CLEANER! I have 2 dogs and one sheds heavily year round. This vacuum not only sucked up all of the fur, but also managed to get all of the dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers AND underneath my thick area rugs that I used to have to go back and clean separately. It works fantastic on carpets, rugs, stairs and my hardwood floors AND its self propelled so I don't even have to push it! I even use it to dust woodwork and window sills and I cleaned my entire sectional couch with it - that's how powerful it is! I must say it is a bit cumbersome on my stairs...but not nearly as bad as my old hoover was. If you are concerned with agility on... 5/5 DogLoverExtreme - See all my reviews WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. ALMOST PERFECT

What's great about it: Great price, easy set up, good suction, not heavy or cumbersome, love the width of the head. What's not so great: Not self-propelled, hose is not as stretchy as I thought, no on board storage for two of the attachments.Really great vacuum, especially for the price. I go through vacuums fairly quickly so I've had quite a few different ones and I've paid up to as much as $500. This is my first Shark and my favorite vacuum to date.Easy to switch from floor to carpet and floor mode is pretty quiet. The furniture/pet hair attachment works really well. The little beater brush is air driven so it's not too noisy and there is a little slide bar to give more or less suction. Which is nice. There are also two little strips of that red material like they use for fancy lint removal brushes. So it readily and quickly picks up pet hair. Good design. It also comes with a super long skinny nozzle, a short flat one and a soft duster type of... 4/5 RJB - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Deluxe (NV42) (Misc.) I never thought I could love a vacuum again

In my younger days, I cleaned houses for a living. I loved my Eureka upright and no one could tell me anything different. Hoover - forget it! The 200 pound Kirby - not a chance! My love for Eureka knew no bounds. I could even repair it myself, changing bags, or belts, no worries!Until one sad day, it broke and I couldn't fix it.Time to go to Amazon and see what is out there.First I went to Kohl's, Best Buy, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Costco, looking, taking notes, seeing prices, sizes, what options, what is good bad or ugly. I kind of liked the Shark. Came home, read all the reviews on Amazon (I am in love with Amazon and Prime, just saying.) Picked this one. Waited for it to arrive.Put it together, not hard, didn't even need help from hubby, Norman. Shazam!I vacuumed my house, up down, all over. Each room, I emptied the easy-to-remove basket of dirt and dog hair and took it to the trash. Most powerful, light and versatile upright I've ever owned- LOVE IT!

I bought this in 2010 and it really is what I've been looking for in an upright for years! I come from a Hoover Windtunnel that weighs ~ 23lbs and was killing me. I have carpeted stairs, so wanted a lift-off type upright but the Hoover model is too heavy. Then I saw the Shark infomercial. They always have such clever designs but their cordless vac reviews are so bad, I had to check reviews online before I bought this. They clearly are much better at making plug-in vacs over cordless re-chargeables because this one is a keeper! It makes vacuuming kinda fun :)Pros:- light and easy to push, pull and lift!- all nozzles (except crevice tools) swivel- really easy to maneuver!- so quiet, no high-pitched hiss at all, just a soft hum- this thing is only 10 amps and the suction is better than the Hoover's 12 amp motor- unbelievable!- converts to a light canister- hand held or still on the rolling nozzle base- comes with lots of attachments (I got... 4/5 LILass (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) Shark vs Bissell...the Shark wins!

I purchased this vacuum about 6 mos. ago in search of replacing my Bissell Pet Hair Removal vacuum. I wanted to wait in submitting this review until I had used the Shark for a fair amount of time. I had initially purchased the Bissell Pet Hair vacuum to help me with the carpet and carpeted stairs in my home. We have two dogs, a Min Pin and a yellow Lab, so the dog hair has various sizes and colors. Our house is carpeted almost throughout (except the tiled kitchen and entryway) in a dark forest green carpet. You can imagine how quickly and easily the yellow Lab hair shows on this dark carpet. I found the Bissell to be heavy and almost impossible to deal with on the stairs. The removable attachment hose was always detaching somewhere, while I was trying to use it on the stairs (either the pet attachment from the extension piece, or the extension piece from the flexible hose, or the flexible hose from the sweeper body. Nothing broke, but in pulling the hose up the stairs, something would... 5/5 Weda - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) What A Difference

Didn't purchase our Shark Lift-Away from Amazon. However, I had to submit a review of this vacuum we bought in June 2011, as it has impressed my wife and myself beyond expectations! We have owned a Kirby Generation 4 vacuum for many years, and it has served us well, but it's weight has become a little too-much for my wife. My wife had been hinting for a Dyson vacuum, but the price of the Dyson was awfully high though it did have good reviews.I was scanning some TV channels, and happend upon a Shark Navigator Lift-Away ad in progress. In the ad they used a Dyson with the Swivel ball steering to show how the Navigator also could swivel/pivot/steer the same way.The ad showed a number of testimonials from folks who said that they thought their prior vacuum before purchasing the Lift-Away were doing a good jobs. They were all surprised that even after running their original vacuum over their carpets, that the Shark Navigator Lift-Away pulled much more... 5/5 Gary A. *** 8 Month Update at the bottom of this review ***First let me start by saying that overall as a brand I strongly dislike Shark. I don't have anything against them personally but the endless annoying and trashy infomercials and the fact that a lot of their older vacuums sucked beyond belief, I honestly am not too thrilled with them as a company.A few years ago I got a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum, model 3920, and very quickly became disappointed with it. It sucked well, but within minutes the plastic piece at the top, the one responsible for making the airflow rotate got clogged up with fur and the suction went down dramatically. Emptying the dust cup was the worst part of it, it made a horrible mess all over the place. I suffered with that vacuum for a couple years and recently decided that my time was worth more than putting up with that crap. I started looking around Amazon for vacuums with the best reviews. Dysons, Hoovers, Eurekas etc, but the... 4/5 Michael Flux (Michigan) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away (NV501) (Misc.) *** 8 Month Update at the bottom of this review ***First let me start by saying that overall as a brand I strongly dislike Shark. Best vacuum I've ever had the pleasure of using!

After reading reviews for the Dyson and Shark Rotator for weeks I went with the Rotator, more specifically the NV502 model found at Bed Bath & Beyond. It was a CINCH to assemble and I was able to use it not more than 5 minutes after opening the box. The suction on this thing is AMAZING, it practically propels itself when on the vacuum base. It's cut my vacuuming time to 1/4 of the time it took with my commercial Royal vacuum! I also own a small cleaning service with a handful of weekly accounts and its made my accounts so much easier to clean, my clients are AMAZED by how much nastiness gets pulled from their carpets (as am I).So glad I read the review left by Michael Flux as he really did a thorough job explaining all the different models and accessories they include. I have yet to use the car cleaning kit but will soon.I suggest anyone looking to buy this vacuum to get it at Bed Bath & Beyond, for a couple reasons. Time will tell

Like most, I was reluctant to buy this vacuum due to the Shark brand and how heavily they're pushed on infomercials. But after using the vac there are a lot of things I like about it. However, all the good things that I like are waging a battle in my brain with how damn ugly and cheap this thing looks. The pictures don't translate how bad the shiny red and silver chrome "plating" is. Oh well, at least it performs.Like a few others, I bought the Dyson DC41 to compare. I bought the Dyson the same day, opened it up and literally used it right next to the Shark. I went around the entire house and did parallel sweeps of all the large areas to get equal samples. I spent the same amount of time and went the same amount of distance with each. I then emptied each bin onto separate paper towels to see which vac picked up the most. Not horribly scientific but it worked. The most shocking thing was how dirty our carpet was. The second most shocking thing was that there was big... 3/5 DA (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away (NV501) (Misc.) I highly recommend the Shark Rocket Slim Vac.

0 5/5 AJM - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rocket Ultralight Upright (HV302) (Misc.) I did a lot of research and reading on this item before purchasing it so I could be well informed about it and the competitors version. I love the Shark Rocket Slim Vac. It is more powerful than my Dyson Pet Upright Vacuum, easier to get up high without a lot of fuss and I can get under the beds without having to disconnect and connect to other parts. It is lightweight and maneuvers easily around and under everything. I do have to empty the dust cup after each room I clean but then I had to empty the dirt on my Dyson pretty often too, so that does not bother me. I love the long cord, I can reach just about the whole house from on plug in. I highly recommend this product.... 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 1, 2013

Believe the hype - this rocket rocks!

I purchased the Shark Rocket about a month ago (from BB&Beyond due to the 20% coupon but based on reviews I read here). I was somewhat skeptical since I tend to gravitate toward reading the 1- and 2-star ratings first, propelling myself into a state of doubt over even the most minor purchases.I was looking for something to replace a heavy, somewhat useless Hoover upright purchased in 1999 and an older model Shark that's no longer sold (as far as I can tell). The Hoover was on the way out the door for a variety of reasons but primarily due to it's weight and the fact that it didn't really suck much up. The older Shark was okay but wasn't powerful enough and it was a pain to detach the handheld part (awkward to get off the main frame). It also didn't have a powered head (or whatever that bottom part is called) so it really wasn't that effective on carpet. I would usually use the brush attachment with the handheld to clean my area rugs (on my knees). We live... 5/5 Debra Desautels - See all my reviews, March 9, 2014

    Wow!

I have really long hair, 6 cats and a messy boyfriend. I have burned through many vacuums, bagged and bagless. They all die within two years and my floors are never completely free of litter, cat food and boyfriend crumb droppings.I have had this vacuum for three days. Bare floors, cat food and cat litter? No problem. Turn off the rollar brush and take care of business. Turn the rollar brush back on and this thing pulls forward (kinda like a self propelled lawn mower) and digs deep into the carpet and pulls up stuff that has to have been hiding for YEARS. *gross*Attatch the pet brush to the hose and hit the furniture, drapes, and anything above floor level and this thing is AMAZING. I have a microfiber couch and with cats, that thing is a fur magnet. This vacuum and pet brush took care of it with ease. Then I slipped on the crevis tool and hit the baseboads and along the ceiling, under the appliances in the kitchen and all the little nooks and crannies... 5/5 K. J. Issues with the Shark Rotator Professional Series NV400

This is my first review of a product and I felt I had to share. I purchased the Shark Rotator Professional Series 400 and what is said is true. It is easy to assemble and my first use on carpet was amazing; however, after emptying the canister I turned the brushroll off to use on a hard floor and that is where the problem showed. No suction. I checked everything, I called the customer service line and they were great, walked me through everything to check, but still no suction, not even on the carpet only with the wand. Sent it back for a replacement no hassle, no problem. Received the replacement and was excited to try it again. Same thing great first time, but lost suction again. Well I finally figured out what the problem is. On the very bottom of the power head is a trapdoor and when I opened it, it was totally clogged and had to be cleaned out. Then it worked fine. If you have pets which shed this is not the vacuum for you. I spend more time cleaning the product than I... 2/5 Kay Davis - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rotator Professional (NV400) (Misc.) Works just like it promises

0 5/5 KTB "KTB" (NYC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Micro Vacuum Attachment Kit - 7 Piece (Kitchen) It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who finds those compressed air can things completely useless in cleaning crap out of my electronics. It's bad enough taht they're bad for the environment, they also don't work as well as the price tag says they should. Thank goodness for this attachment set!All hype aside, this product works exactly as the makers claim. Use the power of your vacuum to get all the crap out of your keyboard, CPU, stereo and anywhere else. I particularly like the brushes.I've also found that the dust I'm after is stubborn. You really do need the full power of a vacuum to get at it. So forget those handheld deals that hook into your USB port or whatever. This product is cheaper than a lot of them and works better than all of them. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 16, 2007
