The best vacuum for any money!

I am not one to leave reviews, i normally just read what others say. But right now my friends and neighbors look at me funny when I start talking about my new vacuum because I can't stop with the accolades. I did read reviews on this vacuum, but they do not do it justice, this is a bada$$ piece of machinery. I have medium pyle carpet, and I can turn the brush off and it still pulls at the carpet! When you turn the brush on, it almost feels self propelled as the brush pulls it forward. I caught the end of a scarf(by mistake) and it sucked the entire thing into the hose before the brush shut off- looked like a cartoon it was so fast! with the canister 3/4 full, it still picked up loose cat litter and pet food. My carpet did not look dirty, but the first 5 feet I went back & forth I went over twice filled the canister a quarter of the way. My carpet runners have never been so clean, they look refreshed, newer even. My 20 yr old son commented on how much better our carpet looked and... 5/5 Bigant - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Upright, Standard Brush Roll (Misc.) Shark Keeps Getting Better, but Still Room for Improvement

I own all three versions of the Navigator, including this one. I am not a professional reviewer, and neither I nor anyone in my family has any connection to anyone in the vacuum cleaner industry. I bought my Lift Away Pro from QVC.I really like the new Lift Away Pro. For about one-third the cost of a Dyson, you get virtually the same performance. Dyson still has an advantage in the quality of the engineering and materials used, but Shark is catching up. Like the two earlier versions of the Navigator, the Lift Away Pro has Pros and Cons.PROs:- Price. You can buy about 3 Lift Away Pros for the cost of one upright Dyson. Cleaning performance is comparable (I have 3 Dysons, so I know).- Excellent suction. If you have never used a vacuum with suction this good, you are going to be appalled at how much dirt comes out of your carpet. It makes me laugh when I read reviews where people complain about how often they have to empty the dust canister. AMAZING!

I love this. I am expecting my first baby and have become insane about cleaning. I wanted a new vacuum because the pet hair mine seamed to be leaving on the carpet. I looked at reviews all over. I debated between this and dyson. This was way more affordable so I decided to give it a shot.I put this together in a flash(pregnant)It seamed a little "cheep" So I was kinda worried about the parts being flimsy. So far they are not, its just very light weight.I wanted to do a test and see how good it was.(crazy prego mind I vacuumed part of my carpet with my old vacuum. I emptied the content of the old on a paper. Then I vacuumed the same swatch of Capet with my new shark. First thing I noticed was how easy it was for me to maneuver at 38weeks pregnant. Then I dumped the content of this vacuum on the paper to compare what had been lifted. I was amazed.First the pile of dirt was about 4-5times larger than the pile from my old vacuum... 5/5 applelove - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Upright, Standard Brush Roll (Misc.) This thing is AMAZING!

WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. I was debating between this model and the Shark Lift Away Professional. I went with this NV42 model because it was $80 cheaper and seemed to have many of the same features (minus the lift away base unit.) I can say that my house has NEVER been CLEANER! I have 2 dogs and one sheds heavily year round. This vacuum not only sucked up all of the fur, but also managed to get all of the dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers AND underneath my thick area rugs that I used to have to go back and clean separately. It works fantastic on carpets, rugs, stairs and my hardwood floors AND its self propelled so I don't even have to push it! I even use it to dust woodwork and window sills and I cleaned my entire sectional couch with it - that's how powerful it is! I must say it is a bit cumbersome on my stairs...but not nearly as bad as my old hoover was. If you are concerned with agility on... 5/5 DogLoverExtreme - See all my reviews WOW....I am not a person who is easy to please. But, I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. ALMOST PERFECT

What's great about it: Great price, easy set up, good suction, not heavy or cumbersome, love the width of the head. What's not so great: Not self-propelled, hose is not as stretchy as I thought, no on board storage for two of the attachments.Really great vacuum, especially for the price. I go through vacuums fairly quickly so I've had quite a few different ones and I've paid up to as much as $500. This is my first Shark and my favorite vacuum to date.Easy to switch from floor to carpet and floor mode is pretty quiet. The furniture/pet hair attachment works really well. The little beater brush is air driven so it's not too noisy and there is a little slide bar to give more or less suction. Which is nice. There are also two little strips of that red material like they use for fancy lint removal brushes. So it readily and quickly picks up pet hair. Good design. It also comes with a super long skinny nozzle, a short flat one and a soft duster type of... 4/5 RJB - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Deluxe (NV42) (Misc.) Most powerful, light and versatile upright I've ever owned- LOVE IT!

I bought this in 2010 and it really is what I've been looking for in an upright for years! I come from a Hoover Windtunnel that weighs ~ 23lbs and was killing me. I have carpeted stairs, so wanted a lift-off type upright but the Hoover model is too heavy. Then I saw the Shark infomercial. They always have such clever designs but their cordless vac reviews are so bad, I had to check reviews online before I bought this. They clearly are much better at making plug-in vacs over cordless re-chargeables because this one is a keeper! It makes vacuuming kinda fun :)Pros:- light and easy to push, pull and lift!- all nozzles (except crevice tools) swivel- really easy to maneuver!- so quiet, no high-pitched hiss at all, just a soft hum- this thing is only 10 amps and the suction is better than the Hoover's 12 amp motor- unbelievable!- converts to a light canister- hand held or still on the rolling nozzle base- comes with lots of attachments (I got... 4/5 LILass (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) What A Difference

Didn't purchase our Shark Lift-Away from Amazon. However, I had to submit a review of this vacuum we bought in June 2011, as it has impressed my wife and myself beyond expectations! We have owned a Kirby Generation 4 vacuum for many years, and it has served us well, but it's weight has become a little too-much for my wife. My wife had been hinting for a Dyson vacuum, but the price of the Dyson was awfully high though it did have good reviews.I was scanning some TV channels, and happend upon a Shark Navigator Lift-Away ad in progress. In the ad they used a Dyson with the Swivel ball steering to show how the Navigator also could swivel/pivot/steer the same way.The ad showed a number of testimonials from folks who said that they thought their prior vacuum before purchasing the Lift-Away were doing a good jobs. They were all surprised that even after running their original vacuum over their carpets, that the Shark Navigator Lift-Away pulled much more... 5/5 Gary A. Shark vs Bissell...the Shark wins!

I purchased this vacuum about 6 mos. ago in search of replacing my Bissell Pet Hair Removal vacuum. I wanted to wait in submitting this review until I had used the Shark for a fair amount of time. I had initially purchased the Bissell Pet Hair vacuum to help me with the carpet and carpeted stairs in my home. We have two dogs, a Min Pin and a yellow Lab, so the dog hair has various sizes and colors. Our house is carpeted almost throughout (except the tiled kitchen and entryway) in a dark forest green carpet. You can imagine how quickly and easily the yellow Lab hair shows on this dark carpet. I found the Bissell to be heavy and almost impossible to deal with on the stairs. The removable attachment hose was always detaching somewhere, while I was trying to use it on the stairs (either the pet attachment from the extension piece, or the extension piece from the flexible hose, or the flexible hose from the sweeper body. Nothing broke, but in pulling the hose up the stairs, something would... 5/5 Weda - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (NV352) (Misc.) Very pleasantly surprised

*** 8 Month Update at the bottom of this review ***First let me start by saying that overall as a brand I strongly dislike Shark. I don't have anything against them personally but the endless annoying and trashy infomercials and the fact that a lot of their older vacuums sucked beyond belief, I honestly am not too thrilled with them as a company.A few years ago I got a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum, model 3920, and very quickly became disappointed with it. It sucked well, but within minutes the plastic piece at the top, the one responsible for making the airflow rotate got clogged up with fur and the suction went down dramatically. Emptying the dust cup was the worst part of it, it made a horrible mess all over the place. I suffered with that vacuum for a couple years and recently decided that my time was worth more than putting up with that crap. I started looking around Amazon for vacuums with the best reviews. Dysons, Hoovers, Eurekas etc, but the... 4/5 Michael Flux (Michigan) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away (NV501) (Misc.) *** 8 Month Update at the bottom of this review ***First let me start by saying that overall as a brand I strongly dislike Shark. Best vacuum I've ever had the pleasure of using!

After reading reviews for the Dyson and Shark Rotator for weeks I went with the Rotator, more specifically the NV502 model found at Bed Bath & Beyond. It was a CINCH to assemble and I was able to use it not more than 5 minutes after opening the box. The suction on this thing is AMAZING, it practically propels itself when on the vacuum base. It's cut my vacuuming time to 1/4 of the time it took with my commercial Royal vacuum! I also own a small cleaning service with a handful of weekly accounts and its made my accounts so much easier to clean, my clients are AMAZED by how much nastiness gets pulled from their carpets (as am I).So glad I read the review left by Michael Flux as he really did a thorough job explaining all the different models and accessories they include. I have yet to use the car cleaning kit but will soon.I suggest anyone looking to buy this vacuum to get it at Bed Bath & Beyond, for a couple reasons. Wow!!!

A little background. I live with two cats. I have both hardwood floors and carpet. My furniture is velour with soft cushions. I use Tidy Cats clumping litter for two litter boxes. Tidy Cats is a round pellet type litter and it gets everywhere. The cats, while short haired, shed quite a lot and I've only just been keeping up with the shed fur with regular vacuuming, grooming and sticky rolls. In short I desperately needed a new vacuum, but which one? I could take out a thirty year mortgage and buy a Dyson, but everything I've read says that there are several very good alternatives available to this. Ok, so once again, which one? I love vacuuming! (Did I just say that?)

Yes, I did just say that. Because this is the best vacuum ever. I don't want to say this vacuum changed my life, because that sounds incredibly pathetic, but it kind of did. I am pretty sure I have vacuumed more in the last month than I have in my entire life. I show it to people when they come to visit and give them demonstrations. Not kidding. My husband saw his parents using it and when he came home from visiting them, the first thing we did was go out and buy this vacuum.I was skeptical.Every other vacuum I've ever encountered was heavy, awkward, inconvenient, tangly, frustrating, hard to store, and broke the minute you looked at it. It didn't matter what you spent on it--a lot or a little--it was still awful. I had given up on ever finding any vacuum that was not awful. This vacuum is aptly named. I am "free" to pick it up at any time with no janky cord in my way! It doesn't cramp my "style" because it is easy-to-use and maneuver,... 5/5 Jillian Cautrell "Wordsmith - Organizer - Cra... Don't waste your money

I bought this in store, but just wanted to warn anyone not to waste your money on this. It worked great for about a week, but then I noticed it wasn't picking anything up, it was just spitting and flinging it out in all directions. I would have to go over the same dust bunny, or whatever I was trying to sweep up, at least 5 times before it would actually catch it. The front of it is so big that it can't get up against a wall unless you turn it sideways to use the little side sweeper brush that just flings crumbs 5 feet across the room, and forget about corners cause its not happening at all. So usually before using this I have to use a regular broom to get the corners and baseboards and end up having to go back again after it flings the junk back up against the wall and into the corners. So I really do the same cleaning 3 or 4 times before I get it all or give up and just use the good ol' broom and dustpan for the whole job. On top of all that, the charge doesn't last very long and it... 1/5 Cece146 - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark 13" Rechargable Floor & Carpet Sweeper (V2950) (Misc.) I bought this in store, but just wanted to warn anyone not to waste your money on this. It worked great for about a week, but then I noticed it wasn't picking anything up, it was just spitting and flinging it out in all directions. 0 5/5 KTB "KTB" (NYC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Micro Vacuum Attachment Kit - 7 Piece (Kitchen) It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who finds those compressed air can things completely useless in cleaning crap out of my electronics. It's bad enough taht they're bad for the environment, they also don't work as well as the price tag says they should. Thank goodness for this attachment set!All hype aside, this product works exactly as the makers claim. Use the power of your vacuum to get all the crap out of your keyboard, CPU, stereo and anywhere else. I particularly like the brushes.I've also found that the dust I'm after is stubborn. You really do need the full power of a vacuum to get at it. So forget those handheld deals that hook into your USB port or whatever. This product is cheaper than a lot of them and works better than all of them. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 16, 2007

Help for the dirtiest family in the world!

I think I read every review on Amazon and WalMart before I bought this sucker yesterday! The problem with most bagless vacs seems to be that the dust filters clog up quickly and greatly reduce the suction force available. Further, I priced those filters at WalMart yesterday and the range seems to be $8-$18- surely I will save enough over the lifetime of this vacuum to compensate. The fact that the box advertised the mighty power of "never loses suction" plus the 5 year warranty convinced me to spend the extra $$. This is engineered more like a shop vac, in that it bypasses the air filters on the intake, thus preserving suction.Good stuff: 1. the filters are washable, and they've included an extra set so you have something to use while the originals are drying. 2. the "never loses suction" promise is true. Just pay attention to that max fill line on the dust cup. I'm guessing you could break the vacuum if you didn't empty it faithfully, but what the heck- it's... 5/5 Cheryl A. Exceeded My Expectations

I bought the Navigator yesterday from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I really am impressed with the performance and results. I have been putting in a lot of research into finding a vacuum that met my families needs.I own a Eureeka "The Boss" and have had it for over three years. It just doesn't pick up deep, ground in dirt. Plus it really is a pain to go to the store and pick-up bags and make sure your getting the correct one's. That was my case against getting an Oreck.Well I brought the navigator home and I have been converted. I like many others vegged out on the infomercial. They make the vacuum sound like it's going to save the world from dust and dirt. They also focus on how they were able to copy the features of the Dyson for less money. I felt if they had to copy a vacuum you might as well get the original.Well after having spent the last week vacuuming my carpet with my old Eureeka twice, then using a Hoover steam vac carpet cleaner, which actually... 5/5 M. Real happy so far

I just got my NV22 vacuum yesterday and wanted to report on my general sense of happiness with the product so far. The main reason why I'm happy is that I spent a very long time vacuuming my bedroom the day before with my old vacuum, but when I brought this one home and went over it again, I ended up with A LOT of dust and dog hair in the dust receptacle. I couldn't believe it. All that stuff was simply left behind by my old vacuum. That was the proof in the pudding for me.Other reactions:- putting it together after taking it out of the box was a snap.- I loooove the long hose for off floor cleaning. I was able to do my walls and even ceiling without having to move or pick up the vacuum.- The wheels are really great.. I have a lot of hardwood flooring, and I like how they glide on it. With my old one, it almost felt like they could scratch the floors, but these are rubberized and glide really smoothly.- it's easy to maneuver. I know that's the big... 5/5 Paulina (United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Navigator Vacuum (Kitchen) I just got my NV22 vacuum yesterday and wanted to report on my general sense of happiness with the product so far. Wow!

I have really long hair, 6 cats and a messy boyfriend. I have burned through many vacuums, bagged and bagless. They all die within two years and my floors are never completely free of litter, cat food and boyfriend crumb droppings.I have had this vacuum for three days. Bare floors, cat food and cat litter? No problem. Turn off the rollar brush and take care of business. Turn the rollar brush back on and this thing pulls forward (kinda like a self propelled lawn mower) and digs deep into the carpet and pulls up stuff that has to have been hiding for YEARS. *gross*Attatch the pet brush to the hose and hit the furniture, drapes, and anything above floor level and this thing is AMAZING. I have a microfiber couch and with cats, that thing is a fur magnet. This vacuum and pet brush took care of it with ease. Then I slipped on the crevis tool and hit the baseboads and along the ceiling, under the appliances in the kitchen and all the little nooks and crannies... 5/5 K. J. Issues with the Shark Rotator Professional Series NV400

This is my first review of a product and I felt I had to share. I purchased the Shark Rotator Professional Series 400 and what is said is true. It is easy to assemble and my first use on carpet was amazing; however, after emptying the canister I turned the brushroll off to use on a hard floor and that is where the problem showed. No suction. I checked everything, I called the customer service line and they were great, walked me through everything to check, but still no suction, not even on the carpet only with the wand. Sent it back for a replacement no hassle, no problem. Received the replacement and was excited to try it again. Same thing great first time, but lost suction again. Well I finally figured out what the problem is. On the very bottom of the power head is a trapdoor and when I opened it, it was totally clogged and had to be cleaned out. Then it worked fine. If you have pets which shed this is not the vacuum for you. I spend more time cleaning the product than I... 2/5 Kay Davis - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark Rotator Professional (NV400) (Misc.)
