    This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Arizona) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up... 5/5 Ena (Chicago, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) Haven't had the unit long enough to be very critical. The unit is only 7 amps but seems to pick up dirt like a 10 amp, lots of power to work the brush's and suck up the dirt. So far it seems to be a good value for the money.**** CAUTION:Amazon recommended purchasing replacementbelt and filter with the Dynamite vaccum except that they recommended the WRONG belt and filter. Having not purchased the Dynamite before I went with what Amazon recommended which turned out to be the F-12 belt and F-1 Hepa Filter which are incorrect. The Dynamite vaccum uses a F-15 belt and a F-2 Hepa Filter so be very careful to order the correct belt and filter if you decide to order this vaccum...do not rely on Amazon's recommendations or their customer service. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 23, 2011

Great little vacuum for small spaces!

I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. When I opened it, and it went together like a lego toy, I was skeptical. But it's amazing!! It's never going to be your only vacuum if you have a big house (the wheel base is small, so you'd be doing a lot of walking back & forth), but if you have a little apartment, or want to keep a seperate vacuum upstairs, or in different rooms of your house, this vacuum is perfect for that! It's basically a hand-held vac, that has a detachable stick-handle, vacuum/wheel base, and crevice tool. Unlike the cordless hand-vacs, it doesn't lose power after 30 seconds, because it's electric. The crevice tool works great, and it's as light weight as one of those kids' toy vacuums. Also, when I emptied it (you will have to empty it pretty much every time you use it, but what do you expect?) I was shocked at how much dirt was in it- I'd just vacuumed with my expensive... 5/5 stefany9579 (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. 0 4/5 Kath&Chloe "KC" (Beverly Hills, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great for vacuuming my area rug and hardwood floors. I wouldn't expect this machine to clean up a large mess. Very lightweight, easy to maneuver and much quieter than a full size vac. Nice that it also transforms into a hand vac. In one use it picked up a lot of dust and cat hair that wasn't evident. Definitely a keeper! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 27, 2009

    Great Little Machine

Bottom line ... this is a great little machine that does the work it's meant to do. I used this machine for a solid 45 minutes while vacuuming two entire floors of my home - including stairs - one of the best parts was that this machine did not over-heat as with other 'bagless' vacuums I've purchased in the recent past (which were put out into the garbage!).I could see that the vacuum was performing from the dust and debris that was entering the dirt cup. My home has all hardwood floors with a "mud" throw at the various entrances. The vacuum works great on hardwood surfaces and also did a nice job on the thin non-slip entrance rugs. Assmebly was a snap ... literally. The vacuum is VERY lightweight which is a big plus in preventing scratches on hardwood. This vacuum also has a very quiet motor - you can actually hear the phone and/or doorbell while you're running the vacuum!Although I'm happy with my purchase and believe this is a great little machine, I... 5/5 Pleased Repeat Customer (New Jersey) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good for what I need it for

0 5/5 TheBirdLady - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Swift Stick Bagless Stick Vacuum, M083410RED (Kitchen) I have a lot of pets, mostly birds, and two kids, so vacuuming is something I have to do several times a day. I picked up one of these for $25 and it is great. It picks up the bird debris that tends to get tracked around the house, gets the little tufts of dog and cat hair, and the crumbs my kids leave around.I still whip out my big Kenmore vacuum once a week to do the deep vacuuming, but for the daily pickup, this is much easier. I just keep it plugged in, standing up beside the bird cages and give the floor a quick swipe a few times a day. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty cleaning, but for daily tidying it is a lovely little machine that gets the job done. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 18, 2011

Couldn't Be Happier With My Hoover Vacuum Cleaner

I previously had a Hoover Windtunnel, it lasted two houses and over 9 years and it finally had enough of keeping up with our two children and 4 pets. So I went out to every website I could find with reviews on vacuum cleaners, including Amazon, and looked at everything from the Dyson, Kenmore, Dirt Devil, Hoover, and so many more. I promised myself that after I used my vacuum cleaner for 3 months I would help all those out there like me looking for a good review and let them know about my experience because the reviews were so helpful to me.So after reading a bunch of reviews I was leaning towards a Dyson or a Kenmore Progressive. Great vacuum for a great price

I love this vacuum! It is one of the best purchases I've ever made.PROS:* Picks up so much hidden dirt in our thick carpet, it scared us the first time we looked in the canister!* For how much power it has, it is actually very quiet - quieter than our old 10 amp vacuum.* Turns on a dime and gets into nooks and crannies really well - we don't have to use the hand tools on every single wall edge.* The attachment with moving brushes cleans stares amazingly well.* No filters or bags to buy - this is a huge plus as we could never find a replacement filter for our old vacuum.* The cord is very long and it retracts into the vacuum. Wow. I find wrapping up long cords so annoying. Having this cord self retract is actually kind of fun (ok, so I'm easily amused!)* The color is trendy.* It is fairly lightweight.* I like that you can adjust the height for different carpet lengths. I know that this isn't a groundbreaking feature, but not... 5/5 Amazon Customer "English Teacher" (Utah) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum, Bagless, UH70120 (Kitchen) I love this vacuum! Great vac - but not for wood floors.

I bought this vac and owned it just a few days and returned it. It is an excellent design and has superior suction but is not good for wood floors as the brush roll has no shutoff. That means when you're using the attachments or vacuuming wood floors, the brush roll is on and spinning. If the vac is on, the brushroll is on. Silly, really. Why spin the brushes on hardwood? Sure I could adjust the height adjustment but it's still silly to risk damage to your wood floors. Even Hoover's manual says "For optimal cleaning performance on bare floors, brushroll should be turned off." (Suction only mode only available on select models).I rather pay more for a vacuum that has the ability to turn that off - and I did - I bought it's "brother" the hoover Windtunnel "PET" UH70210 which has 3 additional features. Smaller than expected, but a good cleaner.

Despite shipping hiccups and a few cracks in the plastic which were easily repaired with a bit of duct tape, the vacuum is a great little sucker. I have a 2 bed, 2 bath apt. with 2 cats and a large dog, so I have to empty the container a couple times each room. This would be a lot better for an apartment without pets, but in the end it works really well and cleans great, so it doesn't really bother me to empty it often. The suction is pretty amazing, my roommates GF has the original DD Breeze (12 amp, non cyclonic) and this really does a better job, pushes easier, and cleans up more dirt even while only having a 10 amp motor. The tools are simple but work fine as well and the hose connects simply and sturdily. All in all its a great cheap vacuum, I would spend a bit more if I could do it over again and get a heavier duty and larger dirt container vacuum instead. That all said, if you are debating between the ~$50 vacuums, this is probably the one to get as its the latest... 2/5 Jake Smith (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews, August 31, 2012

A Video of the the Dirt Devil Breeze

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:36 MinsThe Dirt Devil Breeze Bagless Vacuum Cleaner is a powerful but lightweight upright vacuum cleaner. I have tried other Dirt Devil upright vacuum cleaners with mixed success. Dirt Devils offer a nice combination of power and value, but I have had issues with quality. The Dirt Devil Breeze seems to follow that pattern. It was easy to assemble and offer plenty of power, but I am afraid that the canister will have issues snapping (and staying) in place.Notes- - The vacuum is lightweight and can be easily lifted with one hand - Limited number of attachments - Actually, it only has one 1 attachment - the attachment for the stairs - Bagless system - all of the debris is trapped in the canister, so the Dirt Devil Breeze does not use a bag. While it does not have bag it does have a washable and reusable filter. - Assembly is simple - it requires a philips head screw driver and about 5 minutes... 4/5 CKE (USA) - See all my reviews, December 8, 2012

    Good for the price

Can't compare this to my old "bag" Electrolux vacuum because it is not heavy duty. But the old vacuum had died and it was getting hard to find bags for it so, I decided to go bagless. For the price this vacuum is good and has good suction action. It is so light, I was afraid to assemble it, because I thought pushing the parts together would crack them. It is VERY light plastic. But, easy to assemble and nothing broke -- so far, anyway. Picks up dirt very well. The only issue is, it is EXTREMELY hard to empty. I think if a person did not have pets, it would be perfect, however since I have quite a few cats and dogs, the hair it picks up gets stuck in the top of the clean-out chamber and requires that I pull out the whole "guts" of the device to get the packed-in hair out. Quite a mess and gets dirt all over the place. So found that it's best to do this outside. Can't simply, "open the bin and dump the picked up dirt in the trash" as the pretty instruction... 3/5 Joyce Anne Laird "writer" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews, January 14, 2013

So What Do I Really think?

Our old Dirt Devil upright started giving off some burning smells (not the brush belt) a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to start looking around for a replacement. We have a two story house, so something to effectively vacuum the stairs without purchasing two units would be nice. Oh, and under $200 please. Dyson's are cute, but $500 is over the top for such a basic device. That led us eventually to Bissell's two lift-off canister units, the Revolution and this one, the MultiCyclonic design.Initially, I couldn't tell the difference between the two models. Then, another reviewer pointed out the two "wings" on the side of the dirt container on the Revolution model that one customer accidentally threw its two inserts out with the dirt, only to render his vacuum useless the next time he tried to use it. That narrowed it down to the MultiCyclonic for us. The Revolution also has an additional foam filter to be cleaned in its top section, which the MultiCyclonic doesn't... 5/5 Paul D. Great Vacuum

I bought this vacuum after my old Bissell died. So far I have been pretty impressed with it. The canister lift off feature is great for cleaning stairs or vacuuming your car. I was a little skeptical about the pet hair turbo attachment but it actually worked very well. I have two long haired cats (Maine Coons, so there's a lot of fur!) and the turbo brush attachment got up pet fur from places I had just vacuumed with my previous machine! It is a bagless canister, and if you've ever had a vacuum like that you know it can get messy. It doesn't seem any worse than any other bagless I've had though. As long as you empty them out before getting too full its not a big deal.Another feature that I really like is that you can turn the brushes off with a separate switch; there is a power switch and a brush switch. It is nice to be able to turn off brushes if you are trying to pick up debris on a bare floor (cat litter) and if you are using the wand attachments.I gave the... 4/5 Erin R. Can't beat this price point--the pros & a few minor cons

This Dirt Devil Quick Lite vacuum is what is says it is: quick & light. I'm mostly impressed with the price and the size, making this the perfect vacuum choice for the college student, those moving into their first home, and anyone else needing a "light duty", inexpensive vacuum. I don't usually do pros & cons reviews, but what the other reviewers have said is all spot on, so I'll give a quick list of my likes & dislikes on this little vacuum...PROS* Easy to assemble. One screw is included (already screwed into the vacuum's back) for easy attaching, then it's simply a matter of snapping the handle and hose into place. Voilà , you're done!* The PRICE! You can't beat this price. For those who need a decent, cheap upright vacuum, I'd definitely recommend this one.* Powerful suction. Very powerful suction. It picked up an impressive amount of dirt & dust on it's first few uses. I also own a Dyson DC24, which is very comparable in size & suction (though... 4/5 H. Powerful Cleaner

I'm disabled and I can't move around a heavy, hard to move vacuum very easily, but this Dirt Devil is a nice light weight and powerful.I have two cats and when summer comes along there is cat hair everywhere and I need to clean up around here.I had been using a rechargeable vacuum (other brand) because it was light and easy to move around but it wasn't doing the job I was hoping for, so when I saw the name Dirt Devil, I jumped at the chance to try it out because I've always heard positive things about D.D.It's very easy to put together and requires only a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw, then position and tighten the screw holding the back panel. That's it and then everything else just pops into place, very fast and simple. As I said before, I had been using a different vacuum and it seemed to be doing an OK job, but after using the Dirt Devil, I could not believe how much was in the dirt cup after only a few minutes of use. I... 5/5 Kent J. Smythe (CA USA) - See all my reviews, July 4, 2012

    Terrific Product, Great Price

This little vacuum is perfect for people who live in an apartment or small house. It's small, handy, lightweight, and doesn't require any bags.I got this with my daughter particularly in mind. Her house is pretty small, and she, her husband and daughter and their dinky little obnoxious chihuahua all live there. Needless to say, especially with a 2-1/2 year old and that little wharf-rat dog, a lot of "litter" is generated and ends up on the floor.A couple of years ago I gave her a full-size Kenmore upright, but it was simply too big for her useage; physically too large, and she'd constantly call me up to come see why it wasn't sucking up the dirt. It turned out -- every single time -- that the bag was full. Then she could never find time to go get new bags! Needless to say, it hasn't been used very much.So I loaned this to her, and she loves it. It's small and light, and provides much better access to small areas... and there are no bags! Just empty... 5/5 Brian Baker (Santa Clarita, CA) - See all my reviews, July 4, 2012

    Terrific Performer and Outstanding Value

Approximately three years ago, my $200 Eureka vac finally stopped working and I purchased the featherlite to replace it. At that time I lived in a 1,400 sf apartment. Now I live in a 2,500 sft home. For the past three years, this vacuum has served our family well. Pros:1. Inexpensive. $40 or less in most places.2. It picks up dirt, fuzz (and legos) as well or better than any other vacuum I've ever used. Really. Just change the bag when it gets full.3. Light weight. It's very easy to manuver and my younger kids can use it.4. Simplicity. This is a basic vac. It's easy to change the bag, wind the cord, and pull hair/crud out of the roller if necessary.5. It's got a bag. This is a personal preference, but every bagless upright I've ever used creates a small dust storm when you empty it. The bag system on this one works well.Cons:1. I don't expect it to go past 5 years. It's clearly designed for low cost and... 5/5 GeekDaddy (New England USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) Approximately three years ago, my $200 Eureka vac finally stopped working and I purchased the featherlite to replace it. works fine after a year

0 4/5 R. Wys "R. Wys" (MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) I was suprised to see that some of the other reviews portray this vacuum as useless. I bought mine from Target a year ago and it works wonderfully. Only complaints is that it's still pretty 'clunky' to carry around and that when you want to use the attachments it's hard to get the hose out. I've gone through a Shark brand vacuum that broke after 2 uses and an Orek XL that ate it's own cord but couldn't pick up Cheerios that my daughter spilled. I've had bad luck with vacuums but this one is doing just fine after 200+ uses.Feb. 2013: I just upgraded to a Bissel Trilogy Pet but my Dirt Devil still works wonderfully! Do not buy the canister version of this vacuum though! I've never had to replace the belt on it yet and I did replace the hose two months ago because my husband broke it where it attached to the base but it was a cheap fix. I still say this product is worth purchasing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2008

Can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch but breaks

UPDATE After about 5 Months the part of the hose that connects to the motor ( see my pic) has had a piece break off that locks on the little peg; and now the end of the hose has a vertical crack in it where the attachments would connect. My concern all along after assembling this was the durability factor.I have a rainbow canister that I have decided to retire do the intensive assembly required for its operation. You have to fill the tank with water then place it it's caddy, place the motor on top of tank and then attach the hose from the power head to the motor. Then do the reverse to empty the water from the tank. So I decided to get an upright that you can just plug in and go.I'm not sold yet on the bag less uprights so I decided to go with the old tried and true one's with a bag. I first looked at the Eureka Upright Vacuum Cleaner 1934A, had an impressive review but no attachments and only a 5 amp motor and a little more than I wanted to spend... 1/5 Gerald Balmes "Jerry B" (Washington) - See all my reviews, October 6, 2009

    Extremely impressed, so far!

I just assembled and used this vaccuum for the 1st time, lastnight (ie: April 5, 2013). For one thing, I Loved how easy it was to assemble! Basically, stuff just pops right into the sockets where they should go. You will only need a philips screwdriver to tighten the handle. Besides that, I think the cord is a very nice length! Granted, I live in an 880-sq.ft apartment, so there isn't a whole lot of ground to cover, but it's obvious to see that the cord is a good long length, and I only had to unplug it once in order to reach all areas of my apartment. Besides that, my girlfriend & I were amazed to see just how much dirt & stuff this thing picked up!!!!!Although it does make a fair amount of noise, that's because it has a sweet motor in it which obviously does exactly what a GOOD vaccuum is expected to do!Finally, it was so easy to remove the "dirt canister", empty it & put it back in place! Also, it has a dial on the front which adjusts the vaccuum's height, and the... 5/5 M. Brown "M. Brown" (CLEVELAND, OH USA) - See all my reviews, April 6, 2013

0 5/5 Betty betty - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: BISSELL CleanView Upright Vacuum with OnePass, 9595 (Misc.) I have an Oreck for which I paid almost $350.....I also have a shedding 80 pound English Bulldog. I had vacuumed the rugs/carpet and they still had a fine layer of dog hair over them which I could remove with a dog brush....that is a lot if work. I scanned the products available and came across this one for $80. I vacuumed the kitchen rugs with the Oreck and immediately did a follow up with the Bissell....I filled the Bissell cup ! The Oreck ( and the expensive bags )is out. This is it for me and I could buy three more and still pay less than the Oreck. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 27, 2013

EXCELLENT value and performance! Lightweight too!

I am a vacuum cleaner guru and 'snob'. I've owned about 20 different 'bagless' models in the past 15 years, and am always happy to review the great ones, in order to 'get the word out'. If you want an excellent, everyday bagless vac without breaking the bank, this is it! This 'CleanView OnePass' model has excellent suction (you can feel the suction) and edge pickup abilities, carpet and hard floor performance, and is not as loud as other vacs. The dirt bin is a good size that holds a lot of dirt, and it is easy to empty and snap back onto the machine. I use 2 main vacs in my house, which are my current favorites. The Bissell and my Shark 'Navigator NV22L'. I've had my Shark almost 2 years now, but the hose that connects into the sweeper base cracked, and I cannot find a replacement, so I used duct tape to seal it as best I can. I was going to purchase yet another Shark, but I don't like the somewhat narrow path compared to the wider Bissell, and i'm afraid the hose will crack... 4/5 CQ DX (Ohio, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: BISSELL CleanView Upright Vacuum with OnePass, 9595 (Misc.) UPDATE FOR REVIEW BELOW:Okay...fifteen days before the two year warranty was to expire...it quit charging. With a deep breath, I contacted customer service. I was initially told to take it to the nearest service center which was 45 miles away. I said that was too far for me and was transferred to someone else who promptly gave me instructions to send a clip of the power card and the manufacturer sticker on the back of the vac and they would send a replacement. Exactly six days later, FedEx delivered my replacement vac! I am stunned..this kind of warranty back up just is not seen in America. So, the vac lasted two years which is twice as long as my Shark vac lasted and the prouduct warranty was actually honored by the company! Yes, it can be a bother to have to keep that filter clean, but again, it is a great little helper when it comes to keeping the basement family room picked up and for quick pick up throuhout the house. Perfect for what it is

0 4/5 krispin "krispin" (Berkeley, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Accucharge 15.6V Cordless Bagless Stick Vacuum, BD20035RED (Kitchen) This vacuum is perfect for what it is. I like the fact that the Accucharge won't drain the battery like what happened on my Dustbuster. This does need pretty frequent cleaning to keep up the suction, although that's not difficult at all. The Dirt Devil makes a very loud, high pitched noise, especially if it's not 100% clean, but I can totally live with that. It's been so nice to have this to clean up after our shedding dog and dirt from our kid's feet. The rotating brush does help picking up dirt from our carpet. We use this vacuum almost daily. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 17, 2010

Is it possible to be IN LOVE with a stick vac? YES!

I have all hardwood and tile flooring in the lower level of my house. I just moved from an all carpet house. It was hard to find a stick vac because every single vac with ratings all had several one and two star ratings, I could not find the "perfect" stick vac like I can many other products I buy on here. I went with this because I have had a dirt devil up right vacuum and it was just fantastic, and so I trusted the name. I have never used this vacuum longer than 15 minutes at a time, I usually only vacuum one or two rooms at a time. I have left it off the charger once and know it gets quieter when it is dying, but I leave it on the charger all day and use it all day and it never starts to lose power. This thing does not lose suction either. We have a german shephard that sheds all the time and a 2 year old who leaves a trail of crumbs wherever he goes. We also have a very dry grassy backyard that brings in tons of debris. THERE IS NO NEED TO SWEEP WITH THIS VACUUM!!! I mean I still... 5/5 A. Fink - See all my reviews, March 26, 2010
