    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up... 5/5 Ena (Chicago, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Southwest U.S.) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) You really can't beat the price for the quality and ability of this little vacuum cleaner. But beware, it is little, best for smaller spaces or an apartment. The suction and hose attachment function well. It's very portable and easy to remove the canister. Although getting all the debris out of it takes a good amount of shaking. All in all a nice option if you don't have a lot of square footage and want a light, little cleaner. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 27, 2010

Great little vacuum for small spaces!

I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. When I opened it, and it went together like a lego toy, I was skeptical. But it's amazing!! It's never going to be your only vacuum if you have a big house (the wheel base is small, so you'd be doing a lot of walking back & forth), but if you have a little apartment, or want to keep a seperate vacuum upstairs, or in different rooms of your house, this vacuum is perfect for that! It's basically a hand-held vac, that has a detachable stick-handle, vacuum/wheel base, and crevice tool. Unlike the cordless hand-vacs, it doesn't lose power after 30 seconds, because it's electric. The crevice tool works great, and it's as light weight as one of those kids' toy vacuums. Also, when I emptied it (you will have to empty it pretty much every time you use it, but what do you expect?) I was shocked at how much dirt was in it- I'd just vacuumed with my expensive... 5/5 stefany9579 (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. 0 4/5 HepWee - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) So she's taking the vacuum cleaner in the divorce? Big whoop. I get the dog. A man's dog. So I needed a man's vacuum cleaner. For the price of a man's $20. I get this thing and try it around the house for a bit and it did man-wonders with the dog hair and kid hair and even some man hair throughout the place. The future ex-wife comes over and spots my new mancuum and says "What were you thinking? This vacuum will not do anything you need it to do; it can't handle the dog hair or anything else here." I swear to Odin that she said that.I calmy looked her in the non-man eyes and said "I appreciate your critique; however that Lil Devil handled her hair with ease and this house is spotless because of it. Would you like to try it? It's a delightful experience."Alright, one small victory in five years...AND IT'S ALL THANKS TO MY DIRT DEVIL SD20000RED VERSA POWER ALL-IN-ONE STICK VACUUM CLEANER!Sorry. works fine after a year

0 4/5 R. Wys "R. Wys" (MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) I was suprised to see that some of the other reviews portray this vacuum as useless. I bought mine from Target a year ago and it works wonderfully. Only complaints is that it's still pretty 'clunky' to carry around and that when you want to use the attachments it's hard to get the hose out. I've gone through a Shark brand vacuum that broke after 2 uses and an Orek XL that ate it's own cord but couldn't pick up Cheerios that my daughter spilled. I've had bad luck with vacuums but this one is doing just fine after 200+ uses.Feb. 2013: I just upgraded to a Bissel Trilogy Pet but my Dirt Devil still works wonderfully! Do not buy the canister version of this vacuum though! I've never had to replace the belt on it yet and I did replace the hose two months ago because my husband broke it where it attached to the base but it was a cheap fix. I still say this product is worth purchasing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2008

Can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch but breaks

UPDATE After about 5 Months the part of the hose that connects to the motor ( see my pic) has had a piece break off that locks on the little peg; and now the end of the hose has a vertical crack in it where the attachments would connect. My concern all along after assembling this was the durability factor.I have a rainbow canister that I have decided to retire do the intensive assembly required for its operation. You have to fill the tank with water then place it it's caddy, place the motor on top of tank and then attach the hose from the power head to the motor. Then do the reverse to empty the water from the tank. So I decided to get an upright that you can just plug in and go.I'm not sold yet on the bag less uprights so I decided to go with the old tried and true one's with a bag. I first looked at the Eureka Upright Vacuum Cleaner 1934A, had an impressive review but no attachments and only a 5 amp motor and a little more than I wanted to spend... 1/5 Gerald Balmes "Jerry B" (Washington) - See all my reviews, October 6, 2009

So What Do I Really think?

Our old Dirt Devil upright started giving off some burning smells (not the brush belt) a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to start looking around for a replacement. We have a two story house, so something to effectively vacuum the stairs without purchasing two units would be nice. Oh, and under $200 please. Dyson's are cute, but $500 is over the top for such a basic device. That led us eventually to Bissell's two lift-off canister units, the Revolution and this one, the MultiCyclonic design.Initially, I couldn't tell the difference between the two models. Then, another reviewer pointed out the two "wings" on the side of the dirt container on the Revolution model that one customer accidentally threw its two inserts out with the dirt, only to render his vacuum useless the next time he tried to use it. That narrowed it down to the MultiCyclonic for us. The Revolution also has an additional foam filter to be cleaned in its top section, which the MultiCyclonic doesn't... 5/5 Paul D. Great Vacuum

I bought this vacuum after my old Bissell died. So far I have been pretty impressed with it. The canister lift off feature is great for cleaning stairs or vacuuming your car. I was a little skeptical about the pet hair turbo attachment but it actually worked very well. I have two long haired cats (Maine Coons, so there's a lot of fur!) and the turbo brush attachment got up pet fur from places I had just vacuumed with my previous machine! It is a bagless canister, and if you've ever had a vacuum like that you know it can get messy. It doesn't seem any worse than any other bagless I've had though. As long as you empty them out before getting too full its not a big deal.Another feature that I really like is that you can turn the brushes off with a separate switch; there is a power switch and a brush switch. It is nice to be able to turn off brushes if you are trying to pick up debris on a bare floor (cat litter) and if you are using the wand attachments.I gave the... 4/5 Erin R. Works well, but the Lithium-Ion version of this Dustbuster is better

I borrowed this Dustbuster in order to compare it to the that I recently purchased, which is the exact same except for the type of battery it uses. This Dustbuster uses a Nickel-cadmium (NiCad) battery, compared to a Lithium Ion (LIB) battery in the other version. I put them through the same testing and evaluated them on how well the products work as a handheld vacuum, and then how the two compared to each other. As vacuums, they both performed surprisingly well compared to handheld vacs from 5+ years ago, which I have always hated due to poor battery life and weak suction power. The main problem with older vacs, is that they suffer from "memory effect," which causes products that use NiCad batteries to lose power and charge over time. This is very prevalent with Dustbusters,... 4/5 Scott - See all my reviews, April 20, 2012

    Dust Buster 14.4

I've had 2 Dust Busters for over 20 years. One in my kitchen and one in the bar down stairs. 20 years old and they worked fine. I got used to them running down for 20 seconds and then moving up to speed. Always liked the product. Then about a week ago I visited my daughter and she had a new one. The Dust Buster 14.4 with Cyclonic Action. Wow...it seriously sucked! Could not wait to order one from my friend Amazon. (I love this site) (and no, I don't work for them)! Ordered one and WOW, what a great product. I followed the instructions and charged it up for 24 hours then I used it until the battery died then charged it up again. I love this thing! Its extremely powerful, the long crevice tool has a brush on the end AND it extends about a foot longer if you want. First of all I went and cleaned the ceiling fan in our bedroom. Worked awesome without dragging out the big Vac. Great product and empty's easily. I'm buying another one for my boat where we are always leaving crumbs from toast... 5/5 Ramon V.
