Smaller than expected, but a good cleaner.

Despite shipping hiccups and a few cracks in the plastic which were easily repaired with a bit of duct tape, the vacuum is a great little sucker. I have a 2 bed, 2 bath apt. with 2 cats and a large dog, so I have to empty the container a couple times each room. This would be a lot better for an apartment without pets, but in the end it works really well and cleans great, so it doesn't really bother me to empty it often. The suction is pretty amazing, my roommates GF has the original DD Breeze (12 amp, non cyclonic) and this really does a better job, pushes easier, and cleans up more dirt even while only having a 10 amp motor. The tools are simple but work fine as well and the hose connects simply and sturdily. All in all its a great cheap vacuum, I would spend a bit more if I could do it over again and get a heavier duty and larger dirt container vacuum instead. That all said, if you are debating between the ~$50 vacuums, this is probably the one to get as its the latest... 2/5 Jake Smith (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews, August 31, 2012

A Video of the the Dirt Devil Breeze

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:36 MinsThe Dirt Devil Breeze Bagless Vacuum Cleaner is a powerful but lightweight upright vacuum cleaner. I have tried other Dirt Devil upright vacuum cleaners with mixed success. Dirt Devils offer a nice combination of power and value, but I have had issues with quality. The Dirt Devil Breeze seems to follow that pattern. It was easy to assemble and offer plenty of power, but I am afraid that the canister will have issues snapping (and staying) in place.Notes- - The vacuum is lightweight and can be easily lifted with one hand - Limited number of attachments - Actually, it only has one 1 attachment - the attachment for the stairs - Bagless system - all of the debris is trapped in the canister, so the Dirt Devil Breeze does not use a bag. While it does not have bag it does have a washable and reusable filter. - Assembly is simple - it requires a philips head screw driver and about 5 minutes... 4/5 CKE (USA) - See all my reviews, December 8, 2012

    Good for the price

Can't compare this to my old "bag" Electrolux vacuum because it is not heavy duty. But the old vacuum had died and it was getting hard to find bags for it so, I decided to go bagless. For the price this vacuum is good and has good suction action. It is so light, I was afraid to assemble it, because I thought pushing the parts together would crack them. It is VERY light plastic. But, easy to assemble and nothing broke -- so far, anyway. Picks up dirt very well. The only issue is, it is EXTREMELY hard to empty. I think if a person did not have pets, it would be perfect, however since I have quite a few cats and dogs, the hair it picks up gets stuck in the top of the clean-out chamber and requires that I pull out the whole "guts" of the device to get the packed-in hair out. Quite a mess and gets dirt all over the place. So found that it's best to do this outside. Can't simply, "open the bin and dump the picked up dirt in the trash" as the pretty instruction... 3/5 Joyce Anne Laird "writer" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews, January 14, 2013

    Shockingly light!

0 5/5 eV - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Cyclonic Bagless Canister Vacuum, SD40100 (Kitchen) I bought this vacuum cleaner as I had previously had a simmilar model in Germany. I was shocked by how light it is and was not confident in how well it would clean, but it does surprisingly well and after a few days' use, I trust it to last.It sucks well, has small but effective wheels on the sides of the hose at the head which ensure it won't scratch hard flooring and the rubber-ish surface on the two big wheels mean that it moves reliably over my varnished hardwood floor without marking. The little independently rotating wheel underneath, which enables it to move freely in all directions, broke off from my original model in Germany - that does not appear to be any more sturdy on this version, but I'll add a comment later if it happens.Overall, this vacuum cleaner is light and effective, moves well across my hard flooring without marking, and appears to be equally good at cleaning my rugs! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 11, 2012

Never go back to upright vacuum

previously and still owns a DYSON DC24 which was awkward to move around for cleaning. Main advantage of canister vacuum is the agile mobility of the wand that I sweep and vacuum a wide area much quicker. The upright vacuums are bulky and heavy to move around. This $80 canister is much better than the Dyson DC 24 that I paid $400 for. Because of the mobility of this vacuum and retractable cord, I was more motivated to clean my house than before.Good:-reasonably priced for bagless system-light-retractable cord-easy dust dispose system-good suction-easy maintenance-wand can be easily taken off from hose so you can use the hose to clean furniture, wall edges, windows.bad:-the air vent was blowing backward to the ground, potentially steer up the dust from the un-vacuum area-the hose can be little bit longer-cheap plastic(but at the same time you don't want to pay more?)-can not be neatly store like... 4/5 ab and cd "abc" - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent for bare floors

My previous vacuum had those motorized brush heads. It was fine, but not having any carpets in the house, I felt I was simply using a machine that had features that I did not used to their full potential. All these features also had a weight that I had to drag around while vacuuming. With this Dirt evil canister model, I had all that I needed: lightweight to quickly pick up dust, dirt and a little bit of dog hair (I have a Lhasa Apso). It's extremly easy to empty as well! Its power cord is fine for me, as I have have read somewhere on the net that some users find of somewhat short. If you have one electric outlet per room, you should be fine. I find it's power to be more than adequate: I was able to pick up some of my dog's food pellets hidden in some corners. I got this item on special at 60$ and I'm more than happy with it! Makes vacuuming much easier, lighter and faster. This model might not be powerful enough if you have a heavy shedding dog... My mom has a Pembroke... 5/5 Q. T. Greatest Little Vac

0 5/5 Bbt (Charlotte, N.C. United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip Corded Bagless Handheld Vacuum, SD20005RED (Kitchen) This product is superior by design. I am not a real fan of some of the Dirt Devil products but they really got this one down pat. The vacuum is superior to any other that I have ever had in this category. The nose in the front that flips down gets into all those tuff places in your car seats. The filter is easy to clean and there are replacements available. I do like the very long cord that comes with this vac. Some others have a little cord that really is a sorry way to do things. The attachments work well for different applications. A great little vacuum is all I can say! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 4, 2010

    Flawed, but a worthy purchase

0 3/5 Shauna G (Here, There, and Everywhere) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip Corded Bagless Handheld Vacuum, SD20005RED (Kitchen) I've owned this handy little vacuum for a little more than a year now. While convenient for quick jobs, it isn't perfect either. However, at this price, I'm glad I bought it. I haven't had to use all of the attachments, I usually just stick with the basic vacuum, and rarely add the hose. I don't use it as often as my regular upright vacuum, a Dyson, but for quick jobs, it's much more convenient to bring out the Dirt Devil.Pros:-Power cord long enough for indoor jobs-easy to empty the cup that holds the dirt-the crevice tool is very useful, especially for furniture-the crevice tool folds out and clicks right into the vacuum, which I loveCons-ridiculously loud!-there is no convenient way to wrap the cord without it coming unraveled-it would be nice if the vacuum fit into the accessory bag; it's just barely too big for it-cannot be used for extended periods, or else a burnt smell will permeate throughout the room 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 23, 2011
